Decorating your home for Christmas is an exciting part of the holiday season. Many focus on decorating their outdoors, foyers, and the living area. However, the kitchen – a popular hangout — is usually neglected!
There are actually easy and great ways to continue the holiday mood to the busiest room in the house. Check out these simple tips to dress up your kitchen with a festive yuletide theme.
- Lamps and lighting fixtures are excellent focal points in the kitchen. Decorate them with ornaments on ribbons for an instant Christmas makeover.
- Ribbons are inexpensive ornaments. Aside from your lighting fixtures, you can also tie them onto the back of chairs and around the stools. For variation, choose a different design with wider width. You can also attach other adornments, such as Christmas balls or bunches of pinecones and flowers for a more dramatic transformation.
- Add holiday pizzazz to kitchen counters with some tabletop Christmas trees. Materials can range from simple twigs to something bought from your favorite Christmas tree shops. Place them in the corners where counter meets wall, or beside a bowl of fresh seasonal fruit, like grapefruits and oranges.
- Bring out those holiday mugs and plates received as gifts last Christmas! You can also hang holiday-themed kitchen towels, pot holders, and oven mitts on your walls and counters.
Don’t limit your decoration to your reception areas. As you can see, there are numerous ways to add holiday zing to your kitchen without spending a lot. All you need is some sprinkle of creativity and a dash of imagination!
