Spring-Inspired Home Decorating on the Cheap

April 25th, 2013

It’s no secret that I love spring, and brightening up my home with decorating tweaks lets me embrace more of the season! Making small adjustments to my décor lets me keep my living spaces light and airy during springtime. To have a spring-inspired home, here are some affordable home decorating tips that you can use to spruce up your décor.

Add something white

Adding white to your décor is a simple trick that instantly updates your home for spring. Put up sheer, white lace curtains, take out that white dresser from your garage and use it, or paint your bookshelves white! White makes your present color theme stand out, creating an upbeat décor.

Add colored glassware

If you’re happy with your décor but want to liven it up a bit, try adding colored glassware instead! Simple things such as vases, juice glasses, and water goblets infuse a pop of color into your dining room. Tinted vases look amazing when placed in a location where light bounces off of them while votive candle holders are pretty with lit candles.

Add nature

The best trick to having spring-inspired interiors is to bring nature inside your home. Adding something organic to your décor creates a natural element to your environment that suits the season.

Start simple. A vase of baby’s breath on the hallway table or on your mantelpiece perfectly captures the essence of spring. And if you’re feeling a bit fancy, you can check out these gorgeous spring flowers! They are lovely and lively, and bring a natural vibe to your room.

Add open spaces

Take down those heavy winter curtains, replace them with sheer drapes, and open up those windows! Enjoy the fresh air and sounds of spring!

You can also make your porch more inviting. Replace your old patio furniture with new ones or add some throw pillows to achieve a relaxing effect.

Opening up your home makes your house look and feel bigger. Your open windows create the illusion that the yard is an extension of your home. By letting the sunlight in, you breathe more life into your space.

Add a new tablescape
