Freshen up your living room to make the transition from summer to fall all the more fun
While the fun-filled and stress-free days of summer will soon be over, this gives me a great reason to change out some of my décor. This month’s Home Spruce-up post focuses solely on decorating the living room and making sure it matches the new season.
Make the Switch from Summer to Fall
The new season comes with a barrage of new colors, so a good way to spice up your décor is to switch to fall hues such as orange, red, yellow, and brown. Accessories such as pillows, rugs, and throws in these shades emulate the new season best and make your living room cozy and inviting.
Ready the Fireplace
The days may still be warm, but it won’t hurt to spruce up your fireplace even before the chilly days draw nearer. A freshly cleaned fireplace with a small pile of firewood by the side is perfect for a cozy and warm living room. For the mantelpiece, a few candles, a bunch of natural berries in a mason jar, and a photo collage can turn the room into a space for the family. Just don’t forget to check on the berries every once in a while.
Add a Wreath
Fall means harvest, and a small wreath decorated with bountiful berries will make a great centerpiece for your coffee table or mantel. If you’re feeling a bit creative you can also make your own décor piece. I’m loving this ombre rosette wreath by Beverly from Flamingo Toes. It’s fun and it allows you to choose the shades of red and orange you want for your fall wreath!
Create a Miniature Cornucopia
Bring your fresh décor together using accessories that represent the season. A bowl of fresh fruits or acorns, or a vase of in-season flowers symbolizes fall and an abundant harvest.
Welcome the new season with just a few touch-ups! How about you? How would you spruce up your living room for fall?by
