November 14th, 2013

With the holidays coming, you need all the help you can get when wrapping up gifts. From the wrapping paper to the gift bag to the ribbon, we all want our gifts to look their best under the Christmas tree. For better looking gifts this year, here are some tricks on how tie bows like a pro!

Satin Ribbon (Traditional)

My lovely aunt helped me make these bows look professional. These simple, red bows are perfect for the traditional Christmas gift look. It’s easy to do, too!

With a wire ribbon, you can fluff the bow (or give it as much loft) as you prefer. I like an understated bow while my aunt likes a more dramatic, pronounced one. Obviously, there is no right or wrong; it simply depends on your personal taste!

You can also make a similar bow without a wire ribbon and still make it look fantastic, like this one below.

You can make the same bow in various sizes. You can add more than three loops, and you could add more tails if you like.

There you have it! Use these quick and easy bow-tying techniques to make lovely ribbons that your family and friends will think twice about throwing out!
