This month has been all about Christmas! I’ve been busy with decorating two Christmas trees and putting up other holiday décor. I’ve carefully chosen key elements that I feel would make your room stand out. Here are some items that I think would look great in your home this season.
Here are my top décor picks for the holidays!
Charming Display for the Holidays
Clay ornaments are a big part of our Christmas décor this year, and they look perfect whether used as traditional Christmas tree ornaments or as tags for your gifts.
This clay ornament from Marley & Lockyer features simple words like ‘joy’ and ‘hope,’ making them the perfect gift tags this year. I’m inspired by Marley and Lockyer, but they’re based in Australia and it doesn’t look like they ship to the U.S.
However, the SimpleHomeLife is another Etsy store where you can get similar ornaments like the ones from Marley and Lockyer. The company is based in the U.S., so shipping is easier. And if you’re feeling super crafty, you could also buy some Sculpey clay and make your own DIY Christmas tree ornaments.
White Christmas Stocking from West Elm
Anything that can add texture to your decorating mix can make a lot of difference to your holiday décor. This white felt Christmas stocking from West Elm adds simple texture to the traditional Christmas display with its simple snowflake design.
Burlap, branches, twigs, and berries are my favorites this year. These inexpensive accessories give layering and texture to the mantel, allowing for great visual interest. Add some clear or white twinkle lights to make your Christmas display complete.
Another simple and affordable way to add texture is to cover your old Christmas balls in burlap and old sheets or linens, then finish off with a piece of twine.
A lovely display of plaid from Target
Plaid décor also gives a room texture and creates a welcoming atmosphere. This plaid line via Target brings holiday warmth to your mantel or hallway console.
Blankets and textiles in plaid are also among my top picks this holiday season. A plaid or tartan blanket is the perfect companion while sitting by the fire on a cold Christmas night.
Plaid pillows for additional texture from Schoolhouse Electric
You can also add plaid pillows to your décor and still keep that Christmassy look. This forest plaid pillow from Schoolhouse Electric has a rustic design that is reminiscent of ski cabins.
